What Do We Do?
Part of our mission is to bring bespoke cross stitch accessories to a wide audience of stitchers, both new and experienced. Currently we focus on scissors and yarn snips, but we are continually adding to our product catalog as we grow.
The more significant part of our mission is to keep needle arts relevant and interesting so that future generations can benefit from these crafts like we do. Heritage arts have a way of dying out, and we don't want that to happen. We support local fairs and guilds, and continually want to be involved in community events that allow us a venue to showcase our little stitchy world.
These days, after what seems like a long hiatus, the market for cross stitch and needle arts is starting to flourish. I am so thrilled to see this happening and to be a part of it! A new generation of stitchers is here, and I want to make sure that the niche for modern day cross stitch accessories is covered. The hobby itself is beautiful, and gorgeous accessories to support the craft should be available and easily accessible.
Our Core Values
Core Values are an important part of any organization: big, small, or tiny (like us!). Defined as the fundamental beliefs of a person or company, core values allow businesses to align their offering with their vision and the brand they want to build. Chelsea Buns Cross Stitch operates on the following three core values:
We love to collaborate, so don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to work with us on a project or on some messaging!
These reasons can be deeply personal and vary widely, but here are a few of our favourites:
It’s cheaper than therapy. (Depending on the size of your stash…)
It can be used as a legitimate mental health coping strategy as a part of therapy or simply self-care.
It helps calm the soul. Just the nature of pushing your needle in and out of the fabric is rhythmic and soothing.
In a world full of technology and distraction, stitching helps bring us back into the present moment and focuses us on the work at hand.
Cross-stitch is truly an art. Just because you didn’t design the chart doesn’t mean you aren’t an artist.
Handmade family heirlooms are rare these days. Stitching meaningful pieces that can be passed down generation after generation is truly something special.
Cross-stitch is a social hobby. Stitchers are wonderful humans. Whether it be online stitching groups, retreats, stitch days, or just encounters at the local needle shop, the stitching community is a wonderful and inspiring thing to be a part of.
When it comes right down to it, and perhaps most importantly, it’s truly the only time you can stab something thousands of times and not go to jail. 😉
